Account Type: IMAP
User Name: Enter your full email address (example@domainname.com)
Password: Enter your email password

Incoming Mail Server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
Incoming Port Number: 993
Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL (if SSL isn’t available or doesn’t work, select TLS)

Outgoing Mail Server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
Outgoing Port Number: 465
Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL (if SSL isn’t available or doesn’t work, select TLS)

Please keep in mind that there are many Android phones on the market, and your email setup screens may look a little different.

  1. From the home screen navigate to your email client.
    • For some users this will be found under Settings -> Email or Mail program
    • For some users this will be found under Apps -> Email or Mail program
  2. If this is the first time you are setting up the account, select Other as the account type/mail provider. Android-newaccount-type
    • If this is not the first time you’ve set up this account on your phone, then you should see your email account listed on the email program. Select it and move to step #4 to compare your settings.
  3. On the new account set up wizard, it should ask you to enter your:
    • Email address: Enter your full email address
    • Password: Enter you email password
    • Select Manual setup to continue setting up your account
      • If you select Next, the phone will try to auto-setup the account but there is a good chance it will not work since it does not know the BlueChannel server settings Android-new-account
  4. You should now be on a screen asking you to enter your Incoming Settings. Please make sure your information is as follows.
    • Account Type/Protocol: Select IMAP from the drop down menu
    • Email address: Enter your full email address
    • Username: Enter your full email address.
      • Important: If you only enter the beginning of your email address it will not work
    • Password: Enter your email password
    • IMAP server/Incoming Mail Server: Enter ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
    • Security Type: Make sure that SSL (if SSL isn’t available or doesn’t work, select TLS) is selected
    • Incoming Server Port #: 993
    • Click Next when this information matches android-imap1
  5. You should now be directed to the Outgoing Server Settings screen. Please make sure your information is as follows:
    • Username: Enter your full email address
    • Password: Enter your email password
    • SMTP server/Outgoing mail server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
    • Security Type: Make sure that SSL (if SSL isn’t available or doesn’t work, select TLS) is selected
    • Outgoing Server Port #: 465
    • Click Next when this information matches android-imap2
  6. Your phone may take a few minutes to verify the settings you have entered before completing the account set up.

POP TLS or SSL SETTINGS

Account Type: POP
User Name: Enter your full email address (example@domainname.com)
Password: Enter your email password
Incoming Mail Server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
Incoming Port Number: 995
Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL (if SSL isn’t available or doesn’t work, select TLS)
Outgoing Mail Server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
Outgoing Port Number: 465

    • Security Type: Make sure that SSL (if SSL isn’t available or doesn’t work, select TLS) is selected
    • Incoming Server Port #: 995

  5. You should now be directed to the Outgoing Server Settings screen. Please make sure your information is as follows:
    • Username: Enter your full email address
    • Password: Enter your email password
    • SMTP server/Outgoing Mail Server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
    • Security Type: Make sure that SSL (if SSL isn’t available or doesn’t work, select TLS) is selected
    • Outgoing Server Port #: 465

  6. Your phone may take a few minutes to verify the settings you have entered before completing the account set up.
