iPhone/iPad SSL Email Settings

IMAP TLS or SSL Settings

Account Type: IMAP
User Name: Enter your full email address (example@domainname.com)
Password: Enter your email password
Incoming Mail Server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
Incoming Port Number: 993
Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL (if SSL isn’t available or doesn’t work, select TLS)
Outgoing Mail Server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
Outgoing Port Number: 465
Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL (if SSL isn’t available or doesn’t work, select TLS)

How to Configure the Sent, Draft, and Trash Mailbox Folders

  1. From the main email account panel, click on the Advanced button
  2. Under Mailbox Behaviors, select the mailbox you would like to configure. For example, click on Drafts Mailbox.
  3. Choose the corresponding folder on the server you wish to save the email in. For example, if you selected the Drafts Mailbox then make sure the Draft option is selected.
  4. Click on the Advanced button to go back to the previous page, and then repeat the above steps for any other mailbox folders you wish to configure
  1. From the home screen tap on Settingsiphone-home-settings
  2. Tap on Mail, Contacts, and Calendarsiphone-mailcontactscalendars
  3. Under the Accounts header, select the address you would like to update
    • If this is the first time you are setting up the account, click on Add Account and then select Other from the list of options
  4. Incoming Mail Server settings:
    • Incoming Mail Server/Host Server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
    • Username: please enter the full email address (example@domain.com)
    • Password: Enter your email password
    • Port Number: 993 (you won’t be able to enter this yet)
  5. Outgoing Mail Server settings:
    • Outgoing Mail Server/Host Server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
    • Username: please enter the full email address (example@domain.com)
    • Password: Enter your email password
    • Port Number: 465 (you won’t be able to enter this yet)
  6. iPhone will attempt to verify server settings. If verification fails, tap Continue and proceed to updating the advanced server settings.
  7. Select to sync your mail and click on the Save button in the top right corneriphone-imap-outgoing

 

Updating the Outgoing Port Number

  1. Under the Outgoing Mail Server header, tap on SMTPiphone-outgoing-mail-server-stmp-ssl
  2. Under the Primary Server header, tap on your outgoing server 
  3. You should now be able to:
    • Edit the Outgoing port number to 465
    • Make sure the SSL toggle is turned oniphone-imap-outgoing
  4. Click on the Done button when you are finished

 

Updating the Incoming Port Number

  1. From the main email account panel, click on the Advanced buttoniphone-outgoing-mail-server-advanced
  2. You should now be able to:
    • Edit the Incoming Port Number to 993
    • IMAP Path Prefix should say INBOX (make sure this is in all caps)
    • Make sure the SSL toggle is turned oniphone-imap-advanced
  3. Click on the Done button when you are finished
