TLS or SSL Settings

  • Account Type: POP
  • User Name: Enter your full email address (example@domainname.com)
  • Password: Enter your email password
  • Incoming Mail Server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
  • Incoming Port Number: 995
  • Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL (if SSL isn’t available or doesn’t work, select TLS)
  • Outgoing Mail Server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
  • Outgoing Port Number: 465
  • Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL (if SSL isn’t available or doesn’t work, select TLS)
  1. Open Outlook 2010
  2. Go to File -> Info -> Account Settings button -> Account Settingsaccount-settings
  3. Double click on your email address from the Account Settings panel
  4. Enter the following information on the Internet E-mail Settings panel
    • User Information
      • Your Name: Enter what you would like people to see when they receive an email from you
      • Email address: Enter your full email address (example@domainname.com)
    • Server Information
      • Account Type: POP
      • Incoming mail server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
      • Outgoing mail server: ssl-domain.bluechannel.com (You will need to replace “domain” with your domain name. Please contact us to verify server name and to activate)
    • Logon Information
      • User Name: Enter your full email address (example@domainname.com)
      • Password: Enter your email password
      • Check the “remember password” checkbox
      • Do not check the “Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)” checkboxoutlook-pop-incoming-ssl
    • Click on the More Settings button located in the bottom right
      • Outgoing Server tab
        • Make sure the “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” checkbox is checked
        • Make sure the “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” radio button is selectedoutlook-pop-outgoing
      • Advanced tab
        • Incoming server (POP): 995
        • Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL (if SSL isn’t available or doesn’t work, select TLS)
        • Outgoing server (SMTP): 465
        • Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL (if SSL isn’t available or doesn’t work, select TLS)
        • If you would like to access your emails on other devices then you’ll need to make sure the check box “Leave a copy of messages on the server” is checked
          • Where it says “Remove messages from server after:” enter 21-30 days. This will keep a copy of emails on the server for 21-30 days so that your other devices can access the emails; after 21-30 days the emails will be removed from the mail server but will still be accessible through your Outlook account
        • Click OK to exit back to the Internet E-mail Settings panel.

  5. Click the “Next” button to complete your email account set up.
    • If you receive the “Congratulations!” message then your account was successfully set up.
    • If you receive an error message, double check your settings to make sure everything was entered correctly and try again. If you still receive an error message, download the BlueChannel screen share program and then contact BlueChannel Support to do a screen share session to resolve your issue.

Non-SSL Settings

  • Account Type: POP
  • User Name: Enter your full email address (example@domainname.com)
  • Password: Enter your email password
  • Incoming Mail Server: mail.domain.com (replace “domain” with your domain name)
  • Incoming Port Number: 110
  • Use the following type of encrypted connection: None
  • Outgoing Mail Server: mail.domain.com (replace “domain” with your domain name)
  • Outgoing Port Number: 587
  • Use the following type of encrypted connection: None
  1. Open Outlook 2010
  2. Go to File -> Info -> Account Settings button -> Account Settingsaccount-settings
  3. Double click on your email address from the Account Settings panel
  4. Enter the following information on the Internet E-mail Settings panel
    • User Information
